Marcus Rashford identifies Jadon Sancho as key man ahead of England vs Germany
According to Express, Marcus Rashford feels that Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho can be a deciding factor when England take on Germany in the UEFA Euro 2020 Round of 16 tie. The Red Devils ace was of the opinion that the winger’s time in Bundesliga will help England get past Die Mannschaft.
This is the second time in two summers that the Red Devils are making a move for the English winger. Having missed out on him last summer, it appears that the club are showing more of an initiative this time around. Indeed, Manchester United are believed to be closing in on the signing of Sancho after yet another impressive season with Borussia Dortmund.
Despite being a prolific presence at the club level, it seems as if he cannot, or more accurately, is not allowed to do the same for England. Sancho has been continuously overlooked by Gareth Southgate so far in the UEFA Euro 2020. This is despite England navigating the group stages with two very narrow and dull wins.
Rashford feels Sancho can help England overcome Germany
Now, with one of their biggest tests on the horizon against an efficient German side, Marcus Rashford has talked up his mate. The two could soon be lining up at Old Trafford. But for now Rashford felt that Sancho could be the key to dismantling Germany.
“In a way yeah because he’s played a lot of football against them, more than the rest of us. I’m sure he knows the players, their characteristics, strengths and weaknesses and he’s definitely someone that can exploit them. If one thing doesn’t quite work we have a big opportunity to change things and adapt in the game.
“Adaptability is one of the biggest skills in football and there’s a lot of times in a game where you have to change or tweak something slightly to hurt your opponents. The fact that he’s played against them a lot, he’s hurt them a lot as well, it will be a big factor for us.”

The Manchester United forward does make sense in saying that Sancho’s knowledge about the German players could be of use to England. However, Southgate will need to show faith in the Dortmund winger who is coming off the back of a splendid season.
