Transfer News: Liverpool make contact for Manchester United target Kingsley Coman
According to transfer news from the Express, Liverpool are looking to leapfrog Manchester United in the pursuit of Kingsley Coman. Liverpool are interested in signing the French forward and have made contact with his entourage already.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to United due to contract issues at Bayern. A world-class winger, Coman has won all there is in such a short time. Hence, it was no surprise that United were said to be after the player.
The 25-year-old French international produced a return of eight goals and 15 assists in 39 games in the 2020/21 campaign. Another impressive season at Bayern means that interest in the winger is high. Both Manchester United and Liverpool were after a wide player.
However, United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho meant that Liverpool are clear to go after the Frenchman. Indeed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & co. are closing in on the capture of the Borussia Dortmund star, leaving the field clear for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Now, they are taking steps to act on their interest in Coman. The Reds have already made contact with his management. It has been claimed that Coman’s father is forcing a move to England while Bayern try to extend his current deal with the club.

With Manchester United seemingly close to a deal for Sancho, there is a good chance the Red Devils don’t go after Coman now. While the Frenchman would have been a good addition regardless, he could potentially be headed to United’s biggest rivals this summer.
