Manchester United dealt with the Marcus Rashford situation much differently than the Jadon Sancho situation. While the latter was axed from the first squad and shipped on loan to a new club, the former only got a slap on the wrist and Erik ten Hag said “case closed.”

This has led a lot of people to ask why the Manchester-born star isn’t held accountable the way that the former Borussia Dortmund superstar was. Many even believe that favouritism is the answer to this question.

However, it is in no way shape or form as complex as that. The issue with Sancho was simple as explained by the Dutchman himself. The English winger chose to go public about his issues with the club.

Now, Marcus Rashford showed good conduct and kept his head down when the whole world was accusing him. Therefore, the matter was solved internally and no one had to get their reputation run through the mud.

The Dutchman explained that every issue can be handled internally at Manchester United. So it is quite possible that if Jadon Sancho hadn’t gotten the media and public involved during his time, he might have still been wearing the Manchester Red.

Sancho has found his stride with Borussia Dortmund.

But, not all is lost at the moment. The 23-year-old will return to Old Trafford at the end of his loan spell with Borussia Dortmund. His future with the club will then be decided.

Hopefully, Erik ten Hag and Sancho can bury the hatchet when he returns to the club. The Red Devils need a player like him and any situation that harms the club needs to be dealt with immediately.
