PSG superstar Neymar reserves special praise for Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar has reserved special praise for Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho. The Brazilian admires the qualities the 22-year-old English winger brings to the table.
The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2021 from Borussia Dortmund. In Germany, the youngster made a name for himself for his dribbling abilities and creativity in the final third.
Speaking to The Telegraph (h/t Express), Neymar picked out two English players he admires. And Sancho was picked alongside Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as the stars the 30-year-old appreciates.
“I really like (Harry) Kane and Sancho. They’re two incredible players and I have a special love for them because I like players that have their qualities.”
Since making his move to United, the 22-year-old has failed to live up to the expectations that most fans had of him. The winger has seemingly struggled to settle in Manchester.
At Dortmund, Sancho consistently posted double figures for both goals and assists. Unfortunately, he failed to do the same for the Red Devils last season. And in the current campaign, the 22-year-old has been underwhelming as well.
The forward has an encouraging start under Erik ten Hag. He took his form from the pre-season into the initial fixtures. However, the winger has slowed down in the last few weeks.
As a result, Sancho has lost his place in the Three Lions’ setup. Gareth Southgate opted not to pick the 22-year-old for the 26-man squad that is set to travel to Qatar. He has not featured for England since October 2021 and will now miss the World Cup.
Alejandro Garnacho has come into the side and brought energy and directness to the left wing. Unfortunately, we seem to miss that when the former BVB star plays out wide.

Hopefully, the mid-season break and England snub act as motivation for Sancho to get back to his best. The 22-year-old possesses the talent. However, he needs to show it on the pitch consistently.
