Manchester United star Paul Pogba laughs away talk of Juventus transfer
According to The Express, Manchester United star Paul Pogba has made light work of the talk that he could be returning to Italian giants Juventus this summer.
The 28-year-old’s future faces a pivotal summer and could see his future decided once the Euros comes to an end. With just a year to go on his current deal, the Frenchman could potentially walk away for free next year. It is a situation that United will be very keen to avoid.
According to The Sun, United are willing to break the bank to ensure Pogba stays at Old Trafford for his peak years. As of yet, no agreement has been reached as we near the end of June.
The United ace was once again the standout performer on the pitch for France as the World Champions drew 2-2 against defending champions Portugal in their Euro 2020 match earlier yesterday.
Another aspect that stood out was Pogba’s rather noticeable hairdo. He took to the pitch in Budapest with his half black and half white, colours synonymous with Juventus. The player was asked about it after the match and was quick to laugh it off. If anything, he was waiting for the question.
“My hair was black and white like Juventus shirt tonight? I was expecting this question!”
Pogba went on to add that too much was being made of his personal choices and that he is not thinking of the future right now. France, the 2016 finalists could make it two major trophies in a row if they go on to win the Euros this summer. Les Bleus next face Switzerland in the knockout rounds.
“I’m not thinking about my future, I’m only focused on the Euros. And my hair always change, you know.”
Much ado about nothing?
This is not the first time that Pogba’s hair colours have kicked off a ‘controversy’. The United ace got tongues wagging when he sported blue hair in the Manchester Derby in 2018. He was even told off by United legend Gary Neville. (h/t MEN)
The player however is nonplussed and continues to live life as he always has. Given that he is one of the sport’s foremost names, it is natural that there is much talk about every single thing he does.
