According to VG (h/t Manchester Evening News), Norwegian wonderkid Isak Hansen-Aaroen is keen to make his first-team bow for Manchester United before he turns 18.

The young playmaker shone for the Under-18s despite being just 16 years old. He won 15 of the 16 fixtures he played in for the team and stood out with a number of eye-catching performances in midfield.

It is proving to be a memorable year for Hansen-Aaroen, who made his debut for Norway’s U18s last week. He has now set his sights on making it to the first team at Old Trafford next season.

“Hopefully it will happen before that time.”

Hansen-Aaroen will turn 17 on August 22 this year. He will need to make the cut in the 2021/22 campaign in order to fulfil his aspirations.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown no aversion to playing youngsters when the situation demands it The likes of Shola Shoretire, Hannibal Mejbri, Anthony Elanaga and Amad Diallo among others all made their first-team debuts last season. Whether Hamsen-Aaroen will join that list remains to be seen.

The young Norwegian made his Under-23s debut at the back end of last season and the plan is for him to continue at that age level next season. That puts him one step away from the first team. If he continues to impress, he could find himself in the fray sometime next season.

There are a number of talented young players coming through the ranks at Old Trafford. While not everyone may make the cut, there appear to be some real gems who seem to be hell-bent on leaving their mark at the club.
