Manchester United to meet with Miguel Pinho regarding a new deal for Bruno Fernandes
According to Portuguese publication Record (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United are set to discuss a new deal for Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese superstar’s current deal at the club runs until 2025. Despite his immediate future being made secure, the Red Devils are keen to offer him better and longer terms.
Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho is already in Manchester and will meet with the club to iron out a fresh deal.
It comes as no surprise that United are keen to tie down Fernandes. The 26-year-old has been our best player this season and leads the clubs in both goals scored and assists. (h/t BBC)
The number 18 also led from the front as the Red Devils made it to the finals of the Europa League. Fernandes scored five goals while assisting four more in just eight games in the competition.
Fernandes has now won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the second time in two seasons. He received 63% of the votes, way ahead of Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani who trail in his wake.
Interestingly, Pinho also represents Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Nuno Mendes. The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with United in recent months.
It was reported earlier in the week that Pinho’s trip was to negotiate a transfer for Mendes. How those talks with United went remains to be seen.

Despite his impact, Fernandes is nowhere close to being United’s best-paid player. In fact, his current terms earn him £100,000-a-week. Fernandes signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the club in January 2020 with the option of a one-year extension. (h/t The Sun)
He had earlier sought reassurances regarding the club’s ambitions before penning a new deal.
