Manchester United to go up against Tottenham Hotspur for Milan Skriniar
According to Italian publication Leggo (h/t Sports Lens), Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will battle it out for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The Red Devils have followed the Slovakian international for a while now and have a good idea of his capabilities. Skriniar played 32 league games, scoring three goals this season as Inter lifted their first Serie A title after 11 years.
Although he initially struggled under Inter boss Antonio Conte, Skriniar is now firmly established as a key player for the Nerazzurri.
The Italian giants have however not been spared by the financial aftershocks of the coronavirus pandemic. Their dire condition could force them to sell a number of players this summer, including Skriniar.
Premier League rivals Tottenham have also kept a keen eye on the players progress in the recent past. However, with new management set to take over, it remains to be seen if they are still interested in the 26-year-old.
Even if they are, Spurs may end up missing out entirely on European football next season. Moreover, potentially losing Harry Kane could hold them back in their rebuild.
United meanwhile is a team on the rise and can also offer Champions League football. The 26-year-old Slovakian would be a welcome addition alongside Harry Maguire and could play a crucial part in a team on the rise.
A full international, Skriniar has experience and has held his own in the Champions League.
