Manchester United ready a lucrative contract offer for Harry Kane

According to The Mirror, Manchester United are readying a lucrative contract offer for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The English skipper has been a consistent performer for Spurs over the years. However, his individual brilliance has failed to translate into trophies.

He appears to have had enough and is seeking a move away from Tottenham this summer. United have been aware of him for some time now and appear to be ready to make their move.

Kane will, however, not come cheap, and could cost around £130million. The Red Devils however have not been discouraged and ready to fork out a preliminary contract offer worth £80million. (h/t The Mirror)

United are also ready to offer the striker a lucrative £300,000 per week in wages. While it is a significant improvement in what he currently earns at Spurs, he will still lag behind David de Gea at United.

The Spaniard earns a whopping £375,000 per week. It is a tally Paul Pogba could overtake if United give into his agent’ Mino Raiola’s demands.

A race against time?

Edinson Cavani recently penned a lucrative new deal himself, tying himself to the club for another season. It was reported that United could wait to make a move for Kane in 2022.

While Tottenham are not keen to sell, Manchester City are serious about signing Kane this summer. With the player available, United cannot afford to wait for another season.

Whether we will make a serious move to sign him this summer remains to be seen.
