Manchester United to offer players in exchange for Harry Kane
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Manchester United are ready to offer players in exchange for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.
The 27-year-old has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in England in recent seasons. With him yet to win a trophy with Spurs, his future at the club appears far from assured.
The North Londoners have now slapped a £175m price tag on a player who is one of the best in the world in his position. A mammoth amount at a regular time, it is nothing short of astronomical in the current scenario.
Manchester United are interested in bringing in a new striker this summer. While Erling Haaland remains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top choice, Kane is being considered as an alternative to the Borussia Dortmund ace. (h/t Daily Star)
The Red Devils deem Spurs’ asking price too steep and would only consider making a move if a part exchange of players is a part of the equation. This will help lower the financial commitment we will have to make.
Real Madrid is also keen on the player with a rebuild on the cards at the Santiago Bernabeu. Kane could push for a move out if Spurs’ fail to qualify for the Champions League. Currently, in the seventh spot, Tottenham faces a fight on their hands to achieve that.
Offering players in exchange appears to be a common theme in United’s summer transfer activity. The Red Devils have also been touted to make three players available in a deal for Declan Rice. (h/t Express)
