Transfer News: Manchester United could turn to Harry Kane hints Solskjaer

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United could turn their attentions to Harry Kane, as hinted by Solskjaer. Speaking ahead of the Spurs game, the boss hinted at a potential move for the England striker.

United are keen to add a new striker to their ranks with their current options coming with their own set of problems. Edinson Cavani is all but set to leave the club.

Anthony Martial cannot string together some consistency. Rashford is more suited to playing on the flanks while Greenwood is not yet ready to take up the mantle in the middle.

That has led to United going after two strikers, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. The Norwegian has become the most in-demand striker in Europe with his exploits for Borussia Dortmund. However, that has made him a difficult player to sign with his value at around £126m.

As Solskjaer’s side gears up to face Kane and company, he could not help but tease a potential move for the player.

“When you’re playing against one of the best centre-forwards in European football, of course it’s something that we prepare for. I think every team when they play Tottenham or England, you know Harry Kane’s qualities.

But we prepare the defenders for every single opponent. The season that Son and Kane have had, their relationship is one of Tottenham’s strengths and they also have other quality players we have to be aware of.”

More Manchester United News:

Manchester United could eventually chase Kane if a pursuit for Haaland is unsuccessful. However, prising away a star player from a rival is easier said than done.

Kane could cost a similar amount to Haaland but given that he has openly expressed his desire to leave and win trophies could just work in United and Solskjaer’s favour.
