Facundo Pellistri impresses in Manchester United training

According to MEN, Manchester United youngster, Facundo Pellistri has been earning rave reviews from the club’s coaches.

The 18-year-old joined the club on deadline day this summer from Uruguayan side Penarol. He recently scored his first goal for the club at the youth level and has wowed onlookers with his performances.

Despite his performances, he is not in contention to feature for the first team against RB Leipzig. Given the importance of the fixture, it is understandable. (h/t The Express)

Pellistri opened his account in English football with a goal in United’s 3-1 win over Southampton in Premier League 2 on Friday. The club’s coaches have been impressed by his maturity and eagerness to learn.

Despite being told he would get first-team opportunities, Pellistri is yet to make his first-team bow. Rather than stay disappointed, he has taken it in his stride and appears keen to impress for the youth side.

Pellistri supposedly told reserve team manager Neil Wood that he is fully committed to the club’s youth team.

“He is progressing nicely but I don’t want to put too much pressure on him. He is working hard, trying to take in as much information as he can.”

Pellistri also appears to have impressed his teammates at the youth level. Goalkeeper Peter Woolton too praised the young Uruguayan for his performances and that he is developing nicely.
