Paul Pogba glad to swap Manchester United for French national team
According to French radio station RTL (h/t ESPN), Manchester United star Paul Pogba has suggested that he is glad to be away on international duty for France.
Currently with the French squad, the imperious midfielder has quoted his current situation as a breath of fresh air.
The 27-year-old is going through a frustrating run of form at United. He appears to be a pale shadow of his potential and has struggled to make an impression so far this term.
“The national team is like a window being opened, it is a breath of fresh air.”
With the aura of negativity surrounding his game at the moment, it is understandable why being away from the club would bring him respite.
It appeared to translate onto the pitch as Pogba put on a stellar performance as France downed Portugal 1-0. The disparity in the Frenchman’s performances for France and United is reminiscent of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
“It is a period that I had never experienced in my career before, where I usually always play and always have the rhythm.”
Few can forget his stellar showing for France as Les Bleus won the 2018 World Cup. So far, there have only been glimpses of that fleeting talent while in a United jersey.
The player to his credit said nothing to inculate there is anything wrong at United. However, the fact that feels comfortable while away showcases the need for a change.
Pogba has not reached the levels expected of him at United. The club would be betetr off parting ways and finding other ways to progress.
It is now four years since he joined United in a club-record transfer. Maybe the time has come for us to pursue other avenues.

Pogba’s ability as a footballer is not in any doubt. On his day, the Frenchman is a world-beater capable of winning games single-handedly.
He has also been given a number of opportunities to impress at United. Four years on, it might be time to move on.
