Journalist reveals what Man United need to do to land key summer target

Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards is looking to trump Manchester United to the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United will have to make an unbelievable offer to land Jadon Sancho

According to journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft on ESPN (h/t Express), Manchester United will need to make an unbelievable offer to land Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund star is the club’s top transfer target of the summer. United have however baulked at the German side’s £108million asking price.

The English wonderkid is now busy preparing for next season with Dortmund. Currently with the English squad, it remains to be seen where the winger will be plying his trade next season.

Dortmund had given United time until August 10 to make an acceptable offer for the player. The club failed to do so and the trail has gone cold since.

“It’s one month now since Zorc and Dortmund said there was a deadline and if we take him to the training camp on August 10, he’s going to stay.”

The Germans had earlier sold Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the duo went on strike. Fjortoft, however, does not believes Sancho will do the same.

“I think that the only game changer could be an unbelievable bid done by Manchester United.”

United have enjoyed a rather underwhelming window so far. Dutch international Donny van de Beek is the lone senior signing we have made so far.

While he is a solid signing, he alone will do little to address the deficiencies in the squad. With our curtain-raiser just 10 days away, United will need to get a move on if they are keen to secure transfers.

Fjortoft has suggested that United could try to deflect blame onto the agent if a deal does not materialize.

Hopefully, it does not come to that and we look to land the player than fish for excuses.
