Manchester United fans react as the third kit for 2020/21 is released
As confirmed by the club’s official site, Manchester United have released their third kit for the 2020/21 season.
The visually striking black-and-white kit is inspired by the various stripe patterns connected with United throughout the years.
United’s first striped kit was used over 100 years ago and even in the 1970s and 80s. The club made use of a striped kit during the first year at Old Trafford.
The year saw us sport a classic blue-and-white striped shirt as the alternative kit. The collar on this new jersey features a ‘110 years of stripes’ sign-off, signifying the history of the club’s jerseys
The club describes the design as ‘bold’. We certainly can think of no other word that best captures the feeling we get while looking at it.
While the striped design isn’t as bad as it is made, it could surely be considered an eyesore by a section of the fans.
In fact, a number of them took to Twitter to do just that. We take a look at a few of the reactions below as fans left no stone unturned in letting the club know how they feel.

Some very senior people at Adidas and Manchester United signed off on this concept and final design. Let that sink in.

They need to be held accountable for their lack of judgement.

No one can make it look good. Even Becks.

The shirt itself looks much better on our lads, but adding the stripey shorts and socks…really?! Plain black or white would have been way better!

It’s not funny, it’s a tragedy to rank up there with that grey shirt that rendered our players invisible and led to a kit change at half time.

Someone is going to lose their job over this, and it’s not going to be me.
