Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clears up transfer rumours regarding Nathan Ake
According to MEN, Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has laughed off suggestions that he was buttering up Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.
The Norwegian was seen laughing and talking to the Cherries defender after the 5-2 win at Old Trafford last week. It led to speculation that he was talking the 25-year-old into making a switch to Old Trafford in the summer.
But now speaking ahead of the clash against Aston Villa, Solskajer has laughed off the suggestion.
“I don’t know where that’s come from. We’re fine.”
Ake has been one of Bournemouth’s best players in what is proving to be a disastrous season for them. Currently four points off safety with five games to go, they look increasingly destined for the drop.
The Dutchman might as well find he has no shortage of suitors in the top division. He has been linked with a move to United and also a return to Chelsea. (h/t Football.london)
United do have a number of defenders who could be moved on in the summer. Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, and Marcos Rojo are all likely to be offloaded this summer.
With Harry Maguire occupying one of the spots in central defence, the question of who is his best partner is up for debate. Victor Lindelof has played the role, for the most part, this season.
The Swede’s inconsistency continues to be an issue while Eric Bailly has had rough luck with injuries. All being said, it is a position the club will do well to strengthen.

Ake being a left-footed player should fit in perfectly in between Maguire and Luke Shaw. Whether the transfer will come to pass remains to be seen.
