Manchester United’s stance on Paul Pogba contract revealed
Manchester United remain ‘relaxed’ over the future of midfield superstar Paul Pogba and are yet to trigger the one-year extension option in his contract (h/t MEN).
Pogba, technically, is approaching the final year of his contract. His existing deal expires in the summer of 2021. However, Manchester United retain the option of extending it by another year.
The Red Devils though, are yet to trigger the extension, which has allowed Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola to spin the narrative as his client is in the final year of his deal, in order to try and force a transfer (h/t MEN).
Despite this, the report states that Manchester United are relaxed on the midfielder’s situation and are in no hurry to trigger the contract extension.
Pogba returned to our club in 2016, four years after leaving us for Juventus. The midfielder enjoyed a spectacular homecoming season but has struggled to maintain that level of consistency.
The 27-year-old, along with agent Raiola, tried to force a move to Real Madrid last summer. But the club held firm and refused to offload him (h/t MEN).
His future continues to remain uncertain as Real Madrid still maintain an interest in signing him. Former club Juventus are also keen on securing his return to Turin (h/t MEN).
Earlier this month, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague refuted claims that Pogba will leave United this summer for Real Madrid.

Pogba has endured an injury-riddled 2019/20 campaign. A troublesome ankle issue has meant the 27-year-old has featured just eight times this season. He has two assists from those appearances.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the midfielder. As of now though, United seem pretty relaxed over the situation (h/t MEN).
