Manchester United have plans to retain Erik ten Hag for next season

As reported by The Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag has earned himself a stay of execution at Manchester United thanks to his FA Cup victory over Liverpool. The Dutchman is still in the hot seat and could be eliminated, but his immediate future seems to be safe.

Erik ten Hag fought and earned himself a trip to the FA Cup semifinals after surviving a seven-goal thriller against Jurgen Klopp and his Reds. This brings the Dutchman one step closer to salvaging his season.

However, he still needs to put up a better performance in the Premier League. Any failures following the international break will drastically increase the pressure on Erik ten Hag’s shoulders.

There is another reason behind the Dutchman being safe for now. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his main man Sir Dave Brailsford haven’t decided on a managerial change because they won’t be personally axing Erik ten Hag.

The INEOS chief and his team have brought in Omar Berrada to be the new CEO. They are also actively working to bring Dan Ashworth to the fold. Once both of them are here, they will be the ones to decide the Dutchman’s future.

So while a stay of execution might sound like Erik ten Hag is safe for now, that really isn’t the case. Any drastic failures which are too big to rectify could lead to a swift decision being made by INEOS.
