Manchester United officially complete deal for U18 left-back with 4 assists in 17 league appearances

Manchester United have confirmed that Brandon Williams has become the latest youngster to sign a professional contract with the 20-time Premier League champions.

A report from the official United site claimed that the “influential” full-back was a key member of the team that picked up the Premier League North title with the U18 side recently.

The youngster took care of all the paperwork prior to a big clash against Chelsea for the national final which is to be held on Saturday. He was quoted as saying:

“This season has just been better than I expected, being a first year. Getting into the squad, obviously doing well in the league and keeping going until the end of the season.

“I grew up around Manchester and always supported United. I just love the club. I’ve been here since I was seven so, near enough, 10 years.”

The youngster also thanked a number of people who helped him so far, which also included former United midfielder Nicky Butt. He also insisted that his aim was to go as far as he can at the club and hoped that he can get into the first-team in the future.

The left-back made 17 appearances in the U18 Premier League competition this season and even racked up 4 assists. The Englishman also played 3 games in the UEFA Youth League but only played 18 minutes in that competition.

It will be interesting to see if Williams will be given a chance under Jose Mourinho next season or even in this one, given that we might just rotate the side before the FA Cup final.

Mourinho has given chances to players such as Scott McTominay and has seen players such as Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford consistently play for the first-team too. So the future might be bright for Williams.
