Former Manchester United midfielder was not happy with the team for ‘messing about’ against Wigan Athletic

Manchester United came away with a key 2-0 victory during their 3rd round FA Cup encounter against Wigan Athletic. It was a dominant showing by Erik Ten Hag’s side who for a change, looked comfortable on the pitch.

Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay impressed in the midfield while Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes grabbed a goal each to lead the team to victory. Marcus Rashford was also solid and picked up an assist for his pass to Dalot.

The Red Devils were shooting at a very high volume and ended up taking 33 shots on goal. Sam Tickle made 12 impressive saves out of the 14 shots on target but was unfortunately too late for the other two shots (fot.mob).

Everyone was happy about Manchester United’s performance yesterday except former Red Devil Roy Keane. He was unhappy about them ‘messing around’ as he brought their Premier League habit to light.

Let’s take a look at what the Manchester United icon had to say. (h\t Mirror)

“We wanted United to show a different side of their game tonight, but they’ve brought their habits from the Premier League into tonight. They’re creating chances, just put it in the back of the net, stop messing about.”

Erik Ten Hag also believed that his team should’ve scored more goals, but he appreciated them regardless. The Dutchman highlighted how it was important for them to stay focused despite missing some chances and they did exactly that.

While Roy Keane isn’t technically wrong he should no better than to put his own team down when they’ve finally found a hope of glimmer.

Roy Keane may not have been happy about Manchester United’s performance, but regardless of that, it was a good win for the team. They will hope to build on this performance during their upcoming matchup against the Spurs.
