Manchester United will face competition from Real Madrid as they turn their sight towards inform left-back

Real Madrid will be a thorn in the side of Manchester United who are now looking to sign in-form La Liga left-back, Miguel Gutierrez, as reported by The Standard.

This development came after the team decided to end Sergio Reguilon’s loan prematurely. As the team struggles for options at left-back, an emergency signing has become a must this January.

However, signing Gutierrez is easier said than done. The Spanish national can be rebought by Real Madrid who have that option available to them. If they do decide to sell him afterwards, Manchester United will face opposition from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for Girona this season. Over 20 appearances, he has recorded one goal and three assists for the team (Transfermarkt). His excellent defensive abilities make him an excellent option for any team.

Manchester United will be hoping to get a deal done as quickly as they can. The team is already in shambles and cannot afford any more setbacks, a fresh pair of legs on the field will go a long way towards lifting morale.

If a deal goes through Gutierrez will become the first Manchester United signing during the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era. It seems like there is yet some hope for the Old Trafford squad.
