Manchester United eye a move for Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez. After more clarity on the Tyrell Malacia situation last week, it was evidently clear that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was unhappy with the medical team’s handling of the Dutchman’s injury issues. The 24-year-old has yet to feature for Manchester United this season, and with Luke Shaw also currently injured, we do not have a recognised left-back in the squad.

Moreover, the medical team’s assurance that Malacia would stand fit by January made Erik ten Hag prematurely end Sergio Reguilon’s loan deal, leading to more frustration for the Dutch tactician. According to Manchester Evening News, with no regular left-back available at the moment, the Red Devils look to sign Gutierrez.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has played a huge role in Girona sending shockwaves throughout European football, leading La Liga for a while, and in the reckoning for a spot in the upcoming UEFA Champions League. In 32 appearances across all competitions this season, he has a goal and six assists to his name.

Make this happen, please!

Gutierrez’s emergence as a target for United reflects the club’s commitment to securing young, promising talent capable of making an immediate impact. His performances for Girona have garnered attention across Europe, positioning him as a valuable asset in the transfer market.

The pursuit of Gutierrez also aligns with United’s ambition to compete at the highest level, with the prospect of Champions League football further highlighting the importance of strengthening the squad depth. As the Red Devils aim to navigate domestic and European competitions, the addition of a versatile and talented left-back like Gutierrez could prove invaluable.

However, negotiations for Gutierrez’s transfer are likely to be complex, given Girona’s success and the player’s rising stock in the footballing world also attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City, who also co-own Girona. United may face competition from other clubs vying for his signature, including Real Madrid who have a buy-back clause in his contract as he is a product of their Youth Academy.

More Manchester United News-

To challenge for silverware of the highest order, we must look beyond the likes of Luke Shaw. While Tyrell Malacia is a strong option, he has tended to be injury-prone. New options might do the trick, especially if their name is Miguel Gutierrez.
