Manchester United have a duo of left backs in the roster, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, despite that he has been linked with a move for another full-back as both the aforementioned players have dealt with consistent injury concerns in the ongoing season.

Erik ten Hag has been playing a side without a natural left-back for the majority part of the season. The Red Devils did bring in experienced left-back Sergio Reguilon on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old was signed on a pre-agreed break clause that United activated when the left-back situation looked a bit resolved, but that was just a stopgap blur.

He was sent back to London as the club’s staff believed Tyrell Malacia could return into the first-team fold, according to a report by The Athletic, the 24-year-old is expected to be serving the sidelines for the rest of the season while Luke Shaw isn’t expected to feature till May following a hamstring injury.

Manchester United had to play Victor Lindelof at left-back against Everton on Saturday.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano believes that the Reds from Manchester are planning to bring a new left-back at Old Trafford in the upcoming summer. He insists United want a ‘young’ left-back who can challenge Luke Shaw.
