Manchester United’s chef will be accompanying the England cricket team as they take on India for a cricket test series between the two countries. The reason is exactly as hilarious as it sounds.

As good as Indian cuisine may be, it is not good for the stomachs of everyone. England doesn’t want any of their players to be out sick as they take on India. So to aid the players’ stomachs against India, the Old Trafford chef will be accompanying them.

Keep in mind, Manchester United were recently given a 1-star hygiene rating after they fed some uncooked chicken to corporate guests. Not sure if the Old Trafford standards are up to the mark of the England cricket team.

While they do risk offending their hosts, England have chosen to play it safe. The team needs to stay fit if they are expected to perform. The body will only function if it gets the right fuel.

It also showcases a contrast between the richer and the poorer nations of the world. We have teams like West Indies who can’t even afford to field their best lineup because the players make more money playing league matches.

Then we have England, a team hailing from a rich country who can afford to parade around with a private chef. Omar Meziane, the chef accompanying them this time around was also travelling with them for their tour of Pakistan, as reported by the Telegraph.
