Football pundit Dion Dublin is unconvinced with Manchester United summer signing who Ten Hag starts often
Dion Dublin does not have a lot of faith in Manchester United’s headline summer signing who was excellent for Ten Hag in the Champions League. Rasmus Hojlund looks underconfident when faced with the goal says Dublin.
The 20-year-old striker made a massive contribution for Ten Hag and his Manchester United who have now crashed out of the UCL. The Dutch striker scored 5 goals in just 6 Champions League appearances (transfermarkt).
But despite being excellent in the UCL, Hojlund has yet to score a goal in the Premier League. The 20-year-old striker must find his Champions League self if he wants to help the team succeed.
At just 20 years of age, Hojlund during his first taste of the Champions League managed to become the top scorer while Man United were still part of the competition.
A massive feat for such a young player. This brings us back to the doubts of Dion Dublin. The pundit told BBC that Hojlund tenses up during the big moments which makes him look uncomfortable in front of the goal.
One prime example of this is the Dutch striker’s missed opportunity against Liverpool. With the goal in front and just Alisson Becker to beat, Hojlund fired straight at the keeper who then made a comfortable save.
We have seen him miss easy chances over and over again. But on the bright side, he is still very young and already has the makings of a soon-to-be world-class forward.
