Fabrizio Romano picks out Manchester United star who was shining during their match against Liverpool
While speaking to Caught offside, Romano could not stop singing the praises of Manchester United’s Raphael Varane. He believes the Frenchman’s contributions were immense and ultimately led them to a 0-0 draw.
The same could be said of any of Manchester’s defenders from last night. It was like the entire defensive line was moving as a unit. If their attack could have done the same we might have seen the Red Devils run away with the game.
The journalist was full of praise for Manchester United who he believes played a good game during difficult circumstances.
Varane who was previously surrounded with talk of leaving Old Trafford could now be retained by the team after he showed his class against Liverpool.

“Many people were writing them off, but they came to Anfield and got a point in a difficult game. Credit as well to Raphael Varane, who had a fantastic game and gave a great reaction after a few difficult months of not playing. He deserved this chance and he was brilliant.”
Jonny Evans, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw were also important pieces for the Manchester United defence. But, Varane’s performance comes at a crucial time, after a difficult start to the season the Frenchman has finally come into being.
While he praised Manchester United, Romano also called Liverpool unlucky. It is very possible that the Reds would have obliterated this Old Trafford squad on a different day.
But, they did not. Ten Hag’s gameplan worked and The Red Devils also almost managed to sneak one past Alisson Becker. An overall satisfactory result for the Manchester United team.
