Erik ten Hag to Manchester United players after Liverpool draw: “We should do this more often”

Manchester United fought a hard and long battle at Anfield on Sunday, holding Liverpool to a goalless draw. Despite being away from home, Ten Hag and his men gave no ground to Liverpool and held out for a point, something not many clubs will come away with from Merseyside.

Though he would have loved to add three points to the board the Dutchman was glad he was leaving Anfield with one. On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp’s side were frustrated with the results.

Manchester United’s solid defence managed to end Liverpool’s 21-game goal-scoring streak at home. The Reds could not find the back of the net despite dominating the game.

Ten Hag was satisfied with his team’s performance and even praised them after the game. Let’s take a look at what the Dutchman had to say to his team. (h/t Mirror)

“I said after the game in the dressing room that I was very proud of the team. We should do this more often. We stayed in the game and were disciplined with the game plan.

Another person who deserves a shoutout for their performance at Anfield is Andre Onana. Out of 34 shots Liverpool put eight on target, all were saved at the hands of the United custodian (fot.mob).

The lightning-fast reactions of Onana paired with some brilliant work from the back line of Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, and Diogo Dalot made Man United’s defence impregnable.
