Manchester United want their legend David de Gea back in the team in the upcoming transfer window

According to The Sun, Manchester United are planning to re-sign our legend David de Gea back to the squad to help us when Andre Onana leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations at the beginning of the new year.

In June of this year, De Gea, 32, was released from the Red Devils after his contract expired. Andre Onana, who joined from Serie A powerhouse Inter Milan in July of last year in a €55m million deal, took his spot.

De Gea made 545 appearances overall for Erik ten Hag’s team after joining Manchester United in 2011. He previously played for Atletico Madrid.

Nevertheless, in the early times of his Old Trafford career, Onana has found it difficult to replace the vacuum left by the former Atletico Madrid player. In 13 appearances thus far, he has let in 20 goals while only keeping four clean sheets. But the game against FC Copenhagen might just be a turning point. His last-minute save was just brilliant helping us secure all three points

The club’s options are limited because Altay Bayindir was acquired from Fenerbahce and Tom Heaton is the only other custodian available during the Afcon tournament.

We believe that Man United would improve significantly in an instant with a self-assured and dominant Onana. The signs are there which is a good thing.

A major surprise will occur if the Cameroonian doesn’t perform better at Old Trafford. Hopefully, it won’t take too long. However, we do want De Gea to come back and help us when Andre Onana is out serving for his nation’s glory.
