Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund expressed his honor in playing against his brother, Oscar Hojlund, at Old Trafford
Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund conveyed his incredible emotions as he faced his brother, Oscar Hojlund, at Old Trafford. United defeated FC Copenhagen 1-0 in their third Champions League Group A fixture to move third in the table.
Copenhagen surprised United with their adventurous and well-organized style of play. The Danish side put up a strong fight till the very end and earned a penalty in the final moment. However, the Red Devils goalkeeper Andre Onana came to the rescue and saved the penalty to earn three important points.
United manager Erik ten Hag substituted Hojlund in the 86th minute as his brother arrived in the 91st minute. Oscar is two years younger than his brother and both come from the same family that supports the Red Devil.
Hojlund told reporters in the post-match interview (h/t Guardian) about the privilege of playing against his brother at Old Trafford. He said:
“It is a great feeling to be in the same game as my brother. And not just in any stadium. In Denmark, Old Trafford is seen as one of the most special stadiums in the world.”
United signed Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta for £72m during the summer transfer window. The Danish international has impressed the fans and football experts with his impressive overall performances.
The 20-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Red Devils so far this season in all competitions. Hojlund has so far contributed three goals and every goal came during the Champions League fixture.
Critics have lambasted United’s attack for its inability to generate opportunities and find the back of the net. The Denmark international has not opened his account in the Premier League so far this season. United fans would be hoping that Hojlund can start contributing more in front of goals as he has regularly led the lineup.
