Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero predicts a tough derby clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero expects Manchester United to be a tough opponent as they collide in the derby match this Sunday. The former Argentina international played 13 derby games in his City career and scored eight goals against the Red Devils.

Expect the blue half of Manchester to be the firm favorites going into Sunday’s game. Pep Guardiola’s treble-winning team are second in the Premier League table after two surprise losses before the October international break.

On the other hand, United are six points behind their local rival and in eighth at the Premier League table. United have lost four Premier League games so far this season while having a negative goal difference.

Aguero told Stake (h/t Manchester Evening News) that United are never weak and always bounce back from bad periods. He said:

“It’ll be a difficult game. Form will matter for sure, but City will have a good performance. I don’t think United have ever been weak. They’ve always had great players and they’ve always shown that ability to recover from bad periods”

The Red Devils have registered three consecutive victories in all competitions to ease the pressure that was building. United, known for their dominance, didn’t secure any of these victories conveniently.

United faces their local rival after beating FC Copenhagen 1-0 at Old Trafford during the midweek Champions League game.

Copenhagen surprised the Red Devils by giving them a very tough competition and playing a more adventurous game.

More Manchester United News-

United manager Erik ten Hag faced issues with an injury crisis and inconsistent performances from the start of the season. The Red Devils have been visibly vulnerable in the back and have conceded goals when they played attacking football. At the same time, they have failed to be a creative and goal-scoring threat while applying a cautious approach.

We think the derby game will be crucial for Ten Hag to find the right balance and tactical approach. A victory against City at Old Trafford can kickstart the season which can help United achieve the season’s expectations.
