Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat will leave Fiorentina very soon to complete his move to Old Trafford
According to the Italian source La Nazione, Manchester United are apparently planning to accelerate their efforts to secure the signing of Sofyan Amrabat this summer.
Erik ten Hag has recognised the need to reinforce the midfield during this transfer window. Hence, United decided to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea to address this requirement.
However, it’s been suggested that the Dutch manager is also interested in securing another midfielder, with Amrabat emerging as the primary target.
However, it appears that Man United can’t bolster their midfield options further without offloading some of their current players.
Consequently, they have decided to sell Fred, while Donny van de Beek’s departure from the club has been heavily rumoured.
As reported by La Nazione, the Red Devils are preparing to intensify their efforts to sign Amrabat, with the Moroccan midfielder potentially arriving in Manchester in the upcoming hours.
The Italian outlet states that Fiorentina are holding out for nothing less than €25 million (£21m) to allow their key player to depart.
If United manages to secure his services, the African player would be a reasonable addition, given the mentioned transfer fee.
The Serie A star has received offers from West Ham United and clubs in Saudi Arabia. However, he is not interested in joining any of those teams, as his preference is to transfer to Old Trafford.
After United’s lacklustre performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers recently, it has become evident that the team requires a fresh midfielder who possesses the skill to control the game through passing and can also make defensive contributions.
Even though the club has secured the signature of Mount in this summer transfer window, his playing style is more suited to an advanced position rather than being a natural box-to-box midfielder.
Therefore, Amrabat would be a well-suited choice due to his technical proficiency, ability to execute precise passes through defensive lines, and diligent work ethic.
