Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants to make three more signings before the transfer window closes
According to the Express, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants to make three more signings before the transfer window closes.
United have already added Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund to the ranks but Ten Hag is still not satisfied and wants more quality in the team.
Hence, he is demanding that at least three more signings be made before the transfer window as there would be more outgoings in the coming days which would need to be replaced.
Ask whether he is looking to add more players, this is what Ten Hag said:
“Managers always want more! I think every manager you ask wants more.”
It is assumed that three key signings would be the positions of a central midfielder, a central defender and a backup goalkeeper.
United’s lacklustre opening day performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers where our midfield was outplayed and outclassed by the opposition showcased the need for another big profile in the middle of the park.
United are crying out loud for a controller in the midfield who could be the glue between defence and attack and has the technique and ability to hold the ball.
Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes have similar qualities on the ball, which is to play direct and one touch and while it looks good if the sequences are done correctly, any loss of possession leaves the defence bare.
We need a partner alongside Casemiro who can handle the defensive duties as well as do the transition from defence to attack. That should be the priority position for the club right now.
For central defence, a move away from United for Harry Maguire is imminent for the club to reinvest and it remains to be seen how that pans out. Fabrizio Romano has claimed today that he wants to stay at the club.

Similarly, for the back-up goalkeeping position, it could only be possible if Dean Henderson makes a permanent switch away, the chances of which have become slim due to the current injury issue at hand for the goalkeeper.
United have acted efficiently in the transfer market this term but the job is yet to be done and there are still some deficiencies in the squad that could be rectified before the transfer window closes.
