Manchester United agree personal terms with Rasmus Hojlund on a five-year contract
According to Fabrizio Romano via Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Rasmus Hojlund on a five-year deal, with an option of an additional year.
Hojlund is United’s primary target to fill the striker void and the club has moved one step closer in achieving that after agreeing personal terms with the Danish striker.
It is a five-year deal with the option of an additional year with the club with the player just waiting on the clubs to agree on a fee for his transfer.
Hojlund is keen on the move and dreams of leading the line at Old Trafford and has rejected proposals from the likes of Paris St. Germain in order to achieve that.
It is good to see that United are targeting players that really want to come to the club and play for the badge, something which was missing in many signings of the past year.
However, one big issue in the deal involving Hojlund to Atalanta is that the Serie A outfit wants a fee in the region of €90/100m while United do not intend to pay that much.
United are aware that the player could possibly try to force through a move if Atalanta do not agree on a fee but it seems like they are getting warmed up to the idea of him leaving having signed his replacement in El Bilal Toure in a club record transfer fee.
Hence it does seem like United are ever close in acquiring their primary target and the news of a compromise could be on the cards in the coming days.
There is no sense in making Hojlund if a deal is agreed with Atalanta, to move to the United States for the pre-season tour as the team will be back soon.
