FC Twente prioritise Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri loan
Manchester United star Facundo Pellistri is a ‘top target’ for Eredivisie outfit FC Twente in the ongoing transfer window, according to Twente Insite (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The team from the Netherlands have identified the acquisition of the Uruguaya international this summer as a priority. As things stand, the youngster is high up on the list of arrivals for the Enschede-based club’s technical director Arnold Bruggink.
To that end, the Red Devils are willing to part ways with the 21-year-old on a temporary move in the coming weeks. The forward has already held talks with Erik ten Hag and is looking for the right club to be loaned out to.

United signed Pellistri in the summer of 2020 from Penarol. Subsequently, the winger spent a season and a half on at Deportivo Alaves before returning to the Old Trafford side last summer.
However, the Uruguayan did not seem to be a part of the gaffer’s plans initially at the Manchester-based club. The Dutch manager did not give him any competitive first-team minutes in the first half of the 2022/23 term.
Thankfully, the youngster managed to get opportunities after the 2022 World Cup at the Red Devils. The 21-year-old took those chances with both his hands and put in some decent displays.

During pre-season, Pellistri has not played a lot of minutes. Amad Diallo has heavily featured on the right wing for United in the recent friendlies.
In the previous campaign, Antony was preferred by the gaffer on the right-hand side of the attack. However, we seemingly lacked cover for the Brazilian in the team.

While Pellistri is a promising talent, game time at the Old Trafford side next season will evidently be hard to come by. Therefore, it would be wise to send the Uruguayan out on loan. Whether FC Twente will be his next destination remains to be seen.
