Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot contacted by Manchester United
Manchester United have ‘made contact’ with Juventus star Adrien Rabiot regarding a move in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required).
The France international’s current contract with the Old Lady is set to expire at the end of this month. As a result, the midfielder will be available as a free agent in the coming days and the Red Devils are monitoring his situation.
However, the Bianconeri are interested in keeping a hold of the 28-year-old. To that end, the Serie A giants have offered him a one-year contract extension.
The Old Trafford side were looking to acquire the services of Rabiot last summer as well. However, in the end, the club were unable to come to an agreement with the French national.
In the summer of 2019, Juventus signed the midfielder after he left Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, the 28-year-old has been a key player for the Old Lady.
However, in the previous campaign, Rabiot took his game to the next level. While the Bianconeri struggled, the French national shone and was one of the only positives of the Serie A giants’ season. The 28-year-old also caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances in the 2022 World Cup.
At United, the number eight role was mostly occupied by Christian Eriksen. The Danish national was the more attacking member of a double midfield pivot that also consisted of Casemiro.
Unfortunately, in the former Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur star’s absence, the Red Devils seemingly lack strength in depth. Marcel Sabitzer did a decent job, but the Austrian was signed on loan from Bayern Munich in January. Fred and Scott McTominay have also frustrated with their inconsistency over the years.

Eriksen also struggled to keep up with the pace of the game towards the end of the campaign and put in some lethargic displays. Rabiot has proven himself to be a quality midfielder. But will the French national decide to leave Juventus for the Theatre of Dreams? Only time will tell.
