Xavi Simons, who is currently at PSV Eindhoven, is on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester United, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Holland international signed for the Eredivisie outfit in the summer of 2022 from the Parc des Princes side. However, the Parisians have a €6 million buy-back clause for the midfielder.

But the Ligue 1 outfit will exclusively be able to activate the option in the month of July. To that end, it is the 20-year-old who will have the final say regarding his future and the youngster is waiting to hear from the French champions.

However, Simons is attracting interest from a number of other top teams. Apart from the Red Devils, Premier League rivals Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur have asked to be kept informed on the midfielder’s situation. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also interested in him.

The 20-year-old made his way through the famous La Masia academy of Barcelona. Subsequently, PSG acquired his services. But after failing to break into the Parisian’s first team, the Holland international decided to leave.

At PSV, Simons has shown. The youngster was a pivotal player for the Eredivisie outfit, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions last season.

As things stand, United have an ageing midfield. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen both turned 31 in February. Fred also celebrated his 30th birthday in March.

Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek are still in their physical prime. Unfortunately, the two have been unable to perform consistently over the last few years.

Therefore, we could evidently do with some fresh blood in the engine room. Simons is a versatile player capable of playing in the attack as well. But it remains to be seen whether the 20-year-old will want to move back to PSG this summer.
