Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano rubbishes the rumours stating Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has fallen out with multiple players

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano insisted that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has kept the harmony in the dressing room. Romano dismissed the reports circulating the media which suggested many senior players have fallen out with the manager.

United have struggled with an injury crisis and many poor individual performances that have hampered their season. Meanwhile, the public fallout between Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho dominated the media cycle since the beginning of the season.

The United manager criticized Sancho’s training performance while explaining his exclusion from the matchday squad against Arsenal, earlier in September. Sancho retaliated against the accusation and blamed the manager for using him as a scapegoat. United banished the England international from the first-team facilities as he refused to apologize for his conduct.

Ten Hag has earned a reputation for having a no-nonsense policy when it comes to tolerating misconduct. The Dutchman had a fallout last season with Cristiano Ronaldo which ended in the Portuguese’s contract termination.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT that the United dressing room is in harmony and the reports of further fallout are false. He said:

“At the moment, no, honestly. I think Manchester United’s situation now is again positive after complicated weeks, but now they’re winning games, and I think the situation in the dressing room is quite positive. So the only situation to resolve is the one on Jadon Sancho.”

The United boss dropped his first-choice centre-back Raphael Varane for in-form Harry Maguire this season. Varane has struggled with fitness and nagging injuries throughout the current season, falling down the pecking order.

The 30-year-old failed to start ahead of emergency centre-back Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof. Reports in the media suggested a fallout between the former Real Madrid defender and Ten Hag as the result. Furthermore, the Guardian reported that United players blamed Ten Hag’s hectic pre-season training for their poor start to the season.

Ten Hag cannot afford to lose the dressing room as United goes into the congested December fixtures. United are currently four points behind the fourth place in the Premier League, their minimum expectation for the season.
