Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby is monitored by Manchester United ahead of the summer window
As per Sky Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg (h/t Sunderland Echo), Manchester United are monitoring Bayer Leverkusen and French winger Moussa Diaby ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal and Newcastle United are the other clubs interested in the 23-year-old, who could be available in the summer for a fee up north of £60m.
Diaby was a Paris-Saint Germain youth product before joining Leverkusen in the summer of 2019. His current contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt).
The French international has been one of the consistent performers for Leverkusen. He has scored 14 goals and assisted 11 in 47 appearances in all competitions this season. Although he likes to play on the right wing where he can cut in on his favoured left foot, we have seen him play as a number nine too.
With regard to his attributes, Diaby is great at creating chances, dribbling past people and finishing off chances in and around the opposition box. His pace allows him to be a potent threat in counter-attacks.
In the Bundesliga this season, the 23-year-old has made 1.8 key passes, attempted 1.5 dribbles and 2.4 shots per game (Whoscored).
Although United spent big money to get Antony, a left-footed right winger, from Ajax last summer, they could do with more strength in that forward line department as a whole. They need a striker and Erik ten Hag has reiterated that, but adding more quality in wide areas would not be a bad idea.

The plus point with Diaby is that he can offer a similar threat while playing as a nine or left winger. So, if the Red Devils secure Champions League football, getting the Frenchman would be helpful in competing in elite competitions next season and beyond.
