Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay return to Manchester United training after injury

Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay have returned to training after their respective injury issues, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The England international missed the Red Devils’ previous fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, where we won 2-0. In the current campaign, the 25-year-old has been our talisman.

As for the Scotland international, he has been out of action for some time now. The last time the 26-year-old featured for the Old Trafford side was on 8 April against Everton in the Premier League.

As things stand, Lisandro Martinez, Marcel Sabotzer and Donny van de Beek are the only United players on the sidelines. Unfortunately, the trio will miss the remainder of the season due to their knocks.

Rashford has been pivotal to Erik ten Hag’s success at the Old Trafford side in the current campaign. The 25-year-old is enjoying his best term in front of goal, finding the back of the net 29 times in 53 appearances in all competitions.

Thankfully, the English national has turned things around since the Dutch manager’s arrival. Otherwise, in the previous campaign, the academy graduate seemed short on confidence.

McTominay’s arrival is a big boost as well, with the unavailability of some of our midfielders. Even though the Scottish national has lost his place in the starting lineup, we need numbers in our ranks.

Casemiro’s arrival has seen the 26-year-old tumble down the pecking order. Over the years, the midfielder has failed to cement his place in the team due to his inconsistency.

United’s next game is away against Bournemouth. We need two wins out of our remaining three in the league to ensure a spot in the top four. Hopefully, Rashford and McTominay will help us do so in the coming weeks.
