Manchester United ‘told’ £40 million could get AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi
Manchester United have been ‘told’ that they could acquire the services of AS Monaco star Axel Disasi for £40 million next summer, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
In the current campaign, the France international has caught a lot of people’s attention. As a result, a number of teams around the globe have the centre-back on their radar.
However, the defender is a ‘priority signing’ for the Red Devils in the upcoming transfer window. But it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will get a hold of the 25-year-old’s signature.
Disasi signed for Monaco in the summer of 2020 from Stade Reims. Since then, he has been a regular in the Red and Whites’ first-team setup.
In the 2022/23 season, the defender has taken his game to the next level. As a result, the French national has also made his way into Didier Deschamps’ plans.
For the Ligue 1 outfit, the 25-year-old has been ever-present in their backline. He has made 42 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
United’s strength in depth in defence is exceptional at the moment. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been Erik ten Hag’s preferred partnership at the Old Trafford side.
However, with the two World Cup winners on the sidelines, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have stepped up. But with the two having lost their influence in the team since the Dutch manager’s arrival, it would not be a surprise to see them part ways with the clubs in the coming months.

If our captain or the Sweden international were to leave, we would evidently need to look for reinforcements. To that end, Disasi is a relatively young and talented option to have on our radar.
