PSG willing to break bank for Manchester United target and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are willing to break the bank to sign Manchester United target Rafael Leao from AC Milan, according to Le10Sport via Spanish outlet Sport.
The Parisians will look to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window in order to get their hands on the Champions League. With Lionel Messi possibly leaving at the end of the season, the Ligue 1 outfit are looking to get a quality player in their ranks.
To that end, the French giants have the Portugal international on their radar. The 24-year-old’s current contract with the Rosoneri is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
However, PSG are open to offering the Serie A giants ‘a large amount’ to acquire Leao’s services. It remains to be seen what the Parisians have in mind regarding a transfer fee.
But the Ligue 1 outfit could face competition from the Red Devils and Premier League rivals Chelsea. The two teams might enter the bid for the Portugal international.
Christophe Galtier’s team can call upon Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar up front. However, on the bench, the French giants seemingly lack adequate backup, with Hugo Ekitike the only relatively established forward on the bench.
Leao has been in fine form over the last two seasons. He helped the Italian outfit win the Scudetto in the previous campaign and has continued to perform for Stefano Pioli’s team since then.
However, United’s left wing has been dominated by Marcus Rashford as of late. The 25-year-old has shouldered the burden of the Red Devils’ attack under Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has also seen Alejandro Garnacho break into the first team.

Therefore, we seemingly have more pressing areas of the pitch to strengthen, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst the only number nines in the squad. Thus, it would be wise for the Old Trafford side to allow PSG a free run at the Milan forward.
