Manchester United could lose out on defensive target to Newcastle

As reported by TEAMtalk (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are losing ground in the race for Fulham star, Tosin Adarabioyo as Newcastle United have now entered ‘advanced negotiations’ with the London-based defender.

Man United desperately wish to make changes to their defensive line this summer and Adarabioyo is viewed as a cheap and solid option. The 26-year-old defender will be out of contract at the end of the season and the Red Devils can’t wait to cash in.

However, Newcastle will surely be a thorn in their side as they have potentially left United behind in the race for Adarabioyo. The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances this season and has displayed his intelligence in defence.

Tosin is very good at positioning himself in the middle of passing lines and does an excellent job of defending the box. This is not a player that the Red Devils would want to lose out on so they need to show some urgency.

By signing Tosin on a free transfer United will be saving a on of money to invest in other areas of the team. They also need a new, reliable forward and another defender. Two extremely crucial roles so the team will be looking to splurge on these signings.

Which brings us back to Tosin, Man United will need to make smart decisions this summer if they wish to reinforce their squad at every level. This summer, there might not be a decision smarter than the signing of 26-year-old Adarabioyo.

Tosin will provide a massive boost to the United defensive line.
