Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch ‘open’ to Liverpool move amidst Manchester United interest
Manchester United target Ryan Gravenberch is ‘open’ to joining Premier League rivals Liverpool from Bayern Munich next summer, according to the Mirror (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been eyeing the midfielder for some time now. In the previous transfer window, the Old Trafford side wanted to bring the 20-year-old to Manchester on deadline day.
However, the Bavarians rejected the proposition. Subsequently, we acquired the services of Marcel Sabitzer from the Bundesliga giants on a temporary move.
But Erik ten Hag is still interested in the Holland international. However, Jurgen Klopp’s team have already discussed personal terms with the former Ajax Amsterdam star and he is willing to make the switch. The Merseyside outfit have struggled in the middle of the park this season and Gravenberch would be a shrewd aquisition.
Gravenberch joined Bayern in the summer of 2022. However, the midfielder has found game time hard to come by at the Allianz Arena side. The Holland international has started in just one Bundesliga game so far.
With the depth in Thomas Tuchel’s team’s midfield with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, as well as the imminent arrival of Konrad Laimer, the 20-year-old could be forced out of Bavaria.
United’s engine room was bolstered last summer with the arrivals of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. Unfortunately, while the two have been brilliant, without them, the Red Devils have looked uninspiring in the middle of the park.
Sabitzer has been a decent addition to the team. However, the Austrian is set to return to Bayern after the campaign ends. As a result, we evidently could do with more depth in the midfield.
