Manchester United are eyeing a 26-year-old PL centre-back as a replacement for Jonny Evans.
Manchester United veteran, Jonny Evans is slowly nearing the end of the road in his career. The 36-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the summer, so the Red Devils are scrambling to replace him.
As reported by Sky Sports, 26-year-old Max Kilman has come to light as a potential target for the Old Trafford squad. While there has been no contact between the two sides, Kilman looks like a solid replacement for Evans.
The 36-year-old veteran isn’t an elite player, but he is always available to play. The same thing cannot be said about a lot of Erik ten Hag’s players who have been struggling with injuries.
His ability to stay fit and give options to the team makes Evans a kind of unsung hero for the squad. Max Kilman fits the same bill, he isn’t a luxury name but would be perfect for adding depth to the United bench.
Signing the Premier League centre-back will also allow the Red Devils more time to scout a replacement for Raphael Varane. The Frenchman is another player whose time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.
Varane’s contract expires at the end of the summer and since United don’t intend on offering him a new deal, they’ll have to move fast and procure a new defender. However, replacing a defender of the Frenchman’s quality isn’t an easy task.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will treat Kilman as a safe bet. The 26-year-old might not be the best defender out there, but he can hold his own and United should push hard to get a deal done this summer.
