Arsenal ‘monitoring’ Manchester United summer target and Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch
Premier League rivals Arsenal are ‘monitoring’ Manchester United summer 2022 target Ryan Gravenberch, who plays for Bayern Munich, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter (h/t Mirror).
Last summer, the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder was linked with reuniting with Erik ten Hag at the Old Trafford side. However, a deal could not be struck, with the youngster determined to join the Bundesliga giants.
However, the Holland international has not enjoyed the best of spells at the Allianz Arena side so far. As a result, the Gunners are now exploring the possibility of acquiring the 20-year-old’s services in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Mikel Arteta’s team are yet to enter into any formal talks for Gravenberch. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will divide to sell the midfielder next summer.
At the moment, the North London side have the likes of Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard in the middle of the park. They can also call upon January signing Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny.
As for United, we added Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to our ranks in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian and Danish nationals have been impressive at Old Trafford side so far.
However, the Red Devils seemingly lack quality in depth. Fred and Scott McTominay have been the most used backups in the engine room this season. However, the two have been inconsistent at the Manchester-based club over the years.
Garvenberch developed under Ten Hag at Ajax. Subsequently, the midfielder got a big move to Bayern. But the youngster has started in just one Bundesliga game so far.
