Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is ‘ready’ to sanction the sale of 13 players in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Metro).

The Dutch manager will look to overhaul his squad next summer. To that end, several players could part ways with the Old Trafford side.

However, at the moment, it is unclear who the gaffer is considering getting rid of. A number of players’ futures at the Manchester-based club for now is uncertain.

Anthony Elanga seems destined to leave United next summer. Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek and Brandon Williams’ time at the Old Trafford side is also up in the air.

Eric Bailly and Alex Telles are on loan at Olympique Marseille and Sevilla, respectively. Facundo Pellistri is expected to leave the Red Devils on a temporary move in the coming months.

The Red Devils signed the likes of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony last summer. Subsequently, in January, Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer made their way to Manchester on loan.

Ten Hag has exceeded expectations at United this season. The Red Devils went on to lift the Carabao Cup and ended the six-year trophy drought. We are also still alive in the FA Cup and the Europa League.

The Old Trafford side were also in a comfortable position to finish in the top four in the Premier League. But recent negative results have affected our position in the table.

Therefore, we evidently need to add more quality and depth to the team in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, departures will help bring in funds. But it would not be wise to make wholesale changes to the squad and then be left without a lot of options in the bench.
