According to Sport (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have been a massive boost in their quest to sign Barcelona winger Ansu Fati as the Spanish side are ready to sell the youngster.

When Fati made his senior debut for the La Liga leaders back in 2019, he was a sensation that was touted by many to do special things for the club.

Since then though, things have not gone to plan for the Spanish international. The meniscus on his knee injury back in 2020 did set his progress by a lot of margins. Transfermarkt says that injury made the player miss 47 games for Barcelona. It is a lot!

But, while the 20-year-old has been fit and available for selection in most games this season, Barca boss Xavi has preferred to play Gavi on the left wing. As a result, Fati has just played 1454 minutes of football in all competitions for Blaugrana.

They are now ready to sell the young prodigy even though he wants to stay in Catalonia. They cannot ignore a big-money offer for him.

United are interested in signing Fati. Discarding his lack of minutes this season, the 20-year-old is an exceptional talent who would only get better with age.

He is a fantastic player on the ball who can take defenders on, dribble past them, produce the final product in and around the opposition box and can play in multiple positions across the forward line.

While United may be looking to sign a striker to cope with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo late last year, they could do with more firepower in the wide attacking areas. Fati’s profile and age could be perfect for the Red Devils’ boss Erik ten Hag to work with.
