Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati is “guaranteed” to remain with the Spanish giants after the upcoming transfer window amidst links to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are interested in the La Masia graduate, with speculation regarding his future at the Camp Nou side. As things stand, the Old Trafford side could evidently do with more attackers in their ranks.

However, speaking to journalist Toni Juanmarti (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bori Fati, the 20-year-old’s father, has dismissed his son’s exit from the Blaugrana next summer.

“Ansu will stay at Barcelona. That’s for sure. He stays, it’s guaranteed.”

Fati made his way through the youth ranks at Barcelona. In the 2019/20 season, the Spain international broke onto the scene. Subsequently, high expectations were placed on the youngster’s head.

But injuries have hampered the forward’s development over the years. In the previous two campaigns, the 20-year-old suffered a few setbacks and was on the sidelines a lot.

Fati has been regularly available this season. However, the Camp Nou side have not relied on the youngster lately. The Spaniard has mostly made appearances off the bench for the Blaugrana since Xavi’s appointment in the La Liga outfit’s dugout.

United’s front line has only two natural number nines in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Unfortunately, the French national has been injury prone this season and Erik ten Hag has been unable to count on him.

On the other hand, while the Burnley loanee has worked hard, he has left a lot to be desired in the final third of the pitch. Fati mostly plays on the left wing, but WhoScored.com cites Fati’s characteristic to come on the inside.

Although the 20-year-old has mostly played out wide, he has been deployed in the centre-forward position during his time at Barcelona. But it looks like a move to the Old Trafford side is not on the cards for the Spaniard in the coming months, judging by his father’s comments.
