Manchester United ‘considering’ swoop for OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram
Manchester United are ‘considering’ a swoop for OGC Nice midfielder and France international Khephren Thuram, according to RMC Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The youngster, who is the brother of Marcus Thuram, is enjoying a breakout season. Apart from the 21-year-old, the Borussia Monchengladbach striker is also being linked with a move to the Old Trafford side.
Thuram is a defensive midfielder by trade. The French national has been identified as a long-term replacement for Casemiro. If the Red Devils sign the youngster in the upcoming transfer window, he could also act as an understudy to the former Real Madrid star.
The 21-year-old made his way to Nice in the summer of 2019 from AS Monaco. At the Allianz Riviera, he has developed into a fine player.
Over the years, Thuram has established himself in the Ligue 1 outfit’s starting lineup. In the current campaign, the youngster has made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.
The 21-year-old was also handed his France international debut in the recent Euro 2024 qualifiers. In the 4-0 win over the Netherlands, the midfielder came on as a substitute in the final minutes of the match.
This season, Erik ten Hag has preferred Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the midfield. The two have been impressive since their arrival in the summer of 2022.
The Brazil international has been especially key to the Dutch manager’s plans. However, in the 31-year-old’s absence, we seemingly lack a backup option on the bench.

Therefore, we could evidently do with some cover for Casemiro in the squad. Thuram is a young and talented option the Red Devils can pursue to add depth to the squad. But it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will opt to sign the 21-year-old in the coming months.
