Bayern Munich ‘will allow’ Marcel Sabitzer to join Manchester United next summer

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich ‘will allow’ Marcel Sabitzer to join Manchester United on a permanent transfer next summer, according to Kerry Hau, Chief Reporter SPORT1 (h/t Mirror).

The Austria international joined the Red Devils on a temporary move from the Bavarians on deadline day in January. Since then, the 29-year-old has been a key player in the Old Trafford side’s squad.

However, United do not have the option or obligation to buy Sabitzer at the moment. But the German outfit are open to negotiating a deal with the Red Devils for the midfielder.

The Austrian is keen on committing his long-term future to the Old Trafford side. To that end, Bayern will ask for around £13.2–£17.6 million to part ways with the 29-year-old.

The Bundesliga giants have a wealth of talent in the middle of the park and would seemingly not mind losing him. Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Jamal Musiala are at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal. The Allianz Arena side also have Ryan Gravenberch in their ranks.

As for United, we lack depth in the engine room. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s preferred options in the midfield. However, in the Danish national’s absence, the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have deputised.

The Brazilian and Scotland internationals have been at the Old Trafford side for some time now. However, over the years, the two have been inconsistent.

Donny van de Beek is another midfielder who has been underwhelming for the Red Devils since signing for the club in the summer of 2020. Sabitzer has finally added much-needed quality to our bench.

The Austrian has a wealth of European experience. If the gaffer is able to bring the best out of the 29-year-old, he will evidently become a pivotal player for us going forward.
